The College of Engineering at the University of South Alabama is recognized for the quality of its graduates. Our graduates have proceeded to excellent industrial and government careers, not only in the local Gulf Coast region, but also nationally and internationally. Our graduates have also continued their education in the most respected graduate schools in the country.

Mobile and the surrounding regions are full of engineering industry. These companies support our College and students by providing numerous internships, cooperative education opportunities, and many times, full-time jobs upon graduation.
South offers our undergrad students opportunities to get involved in research giving our students hands-on experience in the field.
The College of Engineering offers many departmental and College based scholarships. $186,000 in College of Engineering Scholarships have been awarded recently.
Student: Faculty Ratio
At USA, the average student to faculty ratio is 18:1 with the average class size being 24. In the College of Engineering, the student to faculty ratio is 24 to 1.
With over 20 student organizations in the College of Engineering alone, our students have the chance to become officers in student chapters of AIChE, ASCE, ASME, IEEE, Tau Beta Pi, and more. Students also can become Engineering Ambassadors as well as officers in the Student Government Association on campus.
We have agreements with six universities in Germany giving our students the opportunity to participate in a semester long exchange program. Classes are taught in English and will count towards their major curriculum requirements.
