Distance learning can present challenges for students used to a traditional classroom setting. These tips can make it easier.
Free Online Tutoring
Stuck on a problem? Have writer’s block, or need direction on your paper? Free tutoring for South students is available at the Center for Academic Excellence. Services include live one-on-one tutoring, essay review and other online resources.
Chat with a Librarian
Librarians from the Marx, Biomedical, Mitchell College of Business and McCall libraries are ready to assist students and faculty. Find online resources, get help with research projects, request interlibrary loans or chat with a reference librarian.
Zoom to Class
South is offering Zoom videoconferencing for students, faculty and staff. Get instructions, technical support and event tips on Zoom etiquette from South's Innovation in Learning Center.
Ask an Advisor
Registration for summer and fall classes begins Monday, April 6. Find your advisor, get help with course registration and learn about which classes you should be taking to stay on track. Academic advisors are hosting appointments.

Stay Well, Get in Shape
Just because your gym is closed doesn’t mean you can’t reach your fitness goals. The USA Department of Campus Recreation is hosting virtual classes in yoga, cardio, strength training and more.
Counseling and Coping
Free counseling is just a phone call away for South students. Telephone and video counseling sessions are available through the University Counseling and Testing Center. The center has also put together a resources page that includes everything from coping skills to mental health apps.
The USA Psychological Clinic offers resources and telepsychology consultations for adults and children.
Mindfulness During a Crisis

South CARES Student Emergency Fund directs critical resources to students who find themselves with urgent expenses they are unprepared to meet. USA Health’s Pandemic Emergency Fund supports USA Health and its critical needs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
